HOUSE OF TIDES
The Earth is under great pressure. Climate change poses a real threat to the stability of the Holocene. The Holocene was and is a prerequisite for the development of our current societies. At the moment, we are blindly heading towards the first tipping points in nature. If we do not take action now, we risk opening carbon sinks, making climate change irreversible. For a long time, architecture has protected us from various external threats. It offered us a safe and comfortable place to stay by separating the outside from the inside. In times of rising sea levels, rising temperatures and extreme weather, defensive architecture seems more important than ever. However, this same protection has resulted in our alienation from nature. It is therefore important to ask ourselves whether defensive architecture is able to protect us from climate change or whether it contributes to increasing the threat.
