The Sacred Flower

Each person experiences the sacral in different manners, which makes this topic somewhat related to how it is defined by the individual. However, some aspects do tend to be deemed sacral by many. This project focuses on the design of a sacred flower, representing a lotus flower that emerges from the harsh waters of the sea and brings tranquility and peace to the environment. Furthermore, the lotus flower symbolizes birth and creation in Buddhism. Therefore, the project symbolically acts as a guide to the visitor through the journey of growth. These staged have been noted as: arrival, birth, growth, flourish, settlement, accomplishment and rebirth. Sacred geometry is used as a design element to determine the size and shape of the design.
