The purpose of this course is to learn to create persuasive and good communicative drawings and images yourself, made by hand as well as made by computer, and the blending of both. The leading question in the workshop is: ‘How can the (visual) world around us lead you and help you in your own design?’ The course is divided into 2 parts: the drawing workshop in which you create images yourself, and the seminar part in which the architectural drawing will be studied. These parts are intertwined and during the process you will get more understanding how drawings can be produced and how the observer responds to these. You will research the visual language used within different cultural periods and within different societies and finally you develop an apparatus (visual literacy) for the making analysis and reflection on images.
