AUDE Project 1: Making & Structure

The second year Design project-line is aimed at expanding students’ basic knowledge and skills of architectural and urban design. The first project concerns the design of a small building, focusing on the aspect of construction in architecture.

The students were asked to design a four-season artist-in-residence pavilion for the garden of the Van Abbe House. The pavilion will accommodate art expositions throughout the year, with a different exposition in each of the four seasons. The pavilion is temporary and will be built to last for seven years. After this period, the building should be disassembled and removed without leaving a trace.
